Julien Dumercq began his career in scientific and technical communication in 2012, fresh from a Master's degree in Mediation and Communication of Science and Technology at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, which followed another Master's degree in Plant Biology at the University of Bordeaux. This dual specialism led him to work in various research laboratories studying the environment, where he was responsible for promoting the work of researchers to the general public. He then moved on to other disciplines, including mathematics, always with the aim of opening up the world of research to society, before moving closer to viticulture and oenology, a long-standing personal objective, in 2018. He will then be the very first employee of the International Viticulture and Enology Society (a not-for-profit association run by its members: research institutes and universities from all over the world), of which he is now Executive Manager, leading a small team of 5 employees who work every day to make scientific knowledge in viticulture and oenology freely accessible to researchers and professionals all over the world.
