We are a family-run house based in Aÿ. The origins of Champagne Henri Giraud date back to 1625. Emmanuelle Giraud-Patour, the 13th generation of the Giraud-Hémart family, now presides over the destiny of this Champagne house. As early as 1990, Claude Giraud, the 12th generation, traced the family’s history and reconstructed the first oak barrels from the Argonne Forest. The famous oaks of this historic forest have been ageing the great wines of Champagne for over ten centuries. ‘Argonne’ is now the name of the house’s iconic cuvée. Drawing on its unique expertise in the vinification of fine Champagne cuvées in oak barrels, Maison Henri Giraud is also exploring new vinification methods using small, oval-shaped stoneware vessels to optimise interaction between the wine and its lees. Our unique expertise, values and philosophy contribute to our commitment to championing luxury craftsmanship and artisanal know-how. The salinity, intensity and aromatic complexity of Henri Giraud Champagne make it one of the jewels of this region’s excellence. ‘The Henri Giraud Experience’, a commitment to returning to the excellence of the great wines of Champagne. A great terroir, Aÿ Grand Cru, the historic and quality cradle of Champagne. A great grape variety, Pinot Noir, the benchmark grape variety in Champagne. A great forest, Argonne, the artisanal cradle of Champagne. The entire vineyard is managed using sustainable viticulture (VD) practices and holds High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. Our cuvées are regularly recognised by leading international wine critics and are also served in prestigious hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. These champagnes are sought after by collectors, connoisseurs and lovers of fine wines from all over the world.
