Basile Pauthier, who holds a PhD in agro-climatology and a Master’s degree in soil science, is one of Champagne’s leading experts on terroir. His research focuses on the impact of climate change on the Champagne region. One of his key areas of research concerns temperature extremes, their consequences for viticulture in Champagne, and methods for mitigating these extremes.
