Description
From 1997 to 2008 (July), he was General Manager and Oenologist of Contadi Castaldi, a company belonging to the Terra Moretti Group, based in Adro, Franciacorta (Brescia).
In 2003, he took part in the founding of the Mirabile winery in Menfi (Agrigento), where he also served as Technical Manager until 2008.
From 1986 to 1997, he worked at the Istituto Agrario di San Michele all’Adige (Trento) as a researcher in the field of viticulture, specialising in projects for the zoning of wine-growing areas.
From 1998 to 2007 he was Secretary of the Expert Group “Viticultural Zoning” of the O.I.V. (Organisation Internationale du Vigne et du Vin) in Paris, a group of which he has been a leader since its creation.
He is the author and co-author of more than 120 scientific publications on viticulture and oenology and several books on viticulture and oenology, including “Note di viaggio in Australia and New Zealand” (1989), “Il Marzemino trentino DOC.
