Description

Terroir is not a static concept, but evolves with climate evolution, sustainable vineyard practices and landscape management. Understanding this dynamic is essential for modern viticulture. The Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, recognised by UNESCO, represent a unique balance between tradition and innovation. The quality of the wine depends on the interaction among Glera variety, soil, climate and human skills, elements that determine the uniqueness of each expression of these interactions. But close to the material values of a wine, there is also a wide range of immaterial values, such as history, tradition, landscape, that make the wine even more unique. In a context of wine global competition, consumers are looking for authenticity and products linked to the terroir. It is therefore essential to preserve the wine-growing heritage without abandoning technological progress, only an integrated approach can guarantee the future of the sector.
